Ugh, doing stuff right though..
1200 dollars for cams shoots me in the heart.
V8 life. Plus springs and retainers.

Could try asking on a 240 forum, they do a lot of 1U swaps, but it would probably be pretty different in a chassis that weighs half a ton less lol.

it's a huge kick in the nuts if you come from the community of single-cam pushrod V8s where a couple hundred bucks gets you a cam, lifters, push rods, springs and roller rockers.....

But I got a quote for 750 for a regrind from a shop.. Kelford cams would be awesome, but I don't have 2 grand to throw away on cams alone.. By that I mean all the necessities as well..

that can be a good price, if they're doing it right and welding the lobes to preserve base circle diameter. If they aren't then you're both going to need to reshim everything and be limited to how aggressive you can go without hitting ramp acceleration limits and wearing out the buckets/lobes.

Yeah, my intent was to get a mild regrind from Delta. My buddy got one for his Impreza RS from them. I was thinking about gettin rocker arms as well, dunno if that would be overkill..

.....that would be difficult....seeing as the 1UZ being a DOHC engine doesn't have rockers...

Looks like I'm gonna start savin for cams. Shippin is gonna be bad. I think a rebuild on a set of heads (to better suit the camshafts). Gotta admit would be a fun build.

Yeah, Kelford is in New Zealand, real ball buster. Port and polish the heads yourself! Just buy a spare and gasket match it
