Default w58 swap info needed

So I have my swap kit ordered from toyotav8 and now I'm just waiting to get it in the mail. However I just want to make sure I have everything I need in order to complete the swap so I wanted to varify a few things with anyone who has done this swap before. I have a mk3 w58 and a 3sgte 21 spline clutch kit. I'm using a CNC reverse swing clutch pedal with a custom bracket with an internal master cylinder curtsey of cashflo. Now I just wanted to get the shifter assembly figured out as well as the transmission cross member. I know I need to extend the shifter so it has the clearance to move freely without hiring the radio or center counsel. I saw a old thread from a member on clublexus here but it didn't give a whole of information about this. I would like to send this to a shop as I'm waiting for the rest of the parts. Any help would be much appreciated

I'm not sure where the shifter location will be compared to the KA trans but if its close you could do something similar to what I did and modify the console instead of the shifter. On the KA trans it comes through the floor about 4 inches more forward than the stock shifter. It does NOT come close to hitting the radio or anything else. I had planned on modifying my shifter also but became very comfortable with where it was. And since it didn't hit anything but the outer trim piece around the console I just made a new trim piece.

But maybe its way off with the W58 and this is all useless info.....

iirc you can use a pre 96 SC300 W58 shifter assembly as it sits further back.

Thanks for the link that should help I just need to measure my housing location I have a w58 from a mk3 supra and I was searching and found this thread as well.

He was able to just cut the middle section of the shifter and modified the housing but he had a w58 from a sc300 so I was just trying to compare the differences between that one and the mk3.

early SC300 W58s use a similar shifter to the MK3, but later ones use the tripod shifters also seen in the MKIV W58.

Yeah I've just started realizing the small differences and to me it looks like the early sc300's have a slightly longer shift housing compared to the mk3 housing. I found this page after a bit of digging and it actually compares all the different size housings and other differences on the different w58 that were made. To me it looks like the mk3 w58 has a 19" housing and the early sc300's had a 20.5" housing. I just wanted to figure the difference out so I wouldn't have to get a new housing when either way it needs to be extended. Kind of a waist of money when now I can just add 1.5" onto what mikes7ke used in his swap. He pm'ed and said he used a early sc300 trans and he needed to extend his housing 7" so that would mean I would need to extend mine 8.5" to line up in the right spot.
