Default 2000 ls400..strange pcv valve.

I wanted to change my pcv valve today.
I ordered the all metal ones, which i now found out are for 90-97. I need the 98-00 which is plastic and has a 90 deg elbow on it.
Question, how do i remove it though? i tried twisting the collar and pulling, it didnt move.

If I remember correctly all you got to do is pull it out. It may take a little more pull to get it out. Hope you order the grommet piece as well. When changing the grommet, it may break into pieces, as it gets brittle over time. Try not to drop any broken pieces in

On a -91 the valve comes out just by grabbing it with a suitable tool and pulling out. On my LS the old grommet was hard and to take it out easier we cut it at one point. Then it was easy to turn the end of grommet "in" and pull it out. Old hard grommet breaks quite easily.

I think I would treat it with something to soften the hard grommet a day or two in advance of trying to remove it - if you drop bits of the broken grommet into the the valve train ....... well, I don't have to tell you how that is gonna turn out! - lol

The pieces cannot fall into the valve train. It is blocked from letting those pieces being able to fall inside but I wouldn't wanna leave them in there.

maybe not directly fall in, but small pieces could get down there eventually, the crankcase gases get through, so it ain't sealed!

Having large hardened plastic-like rubber pieces floating around near the spinning camshafts isn't really a happy thing either!
