Default white smoke on startup!

when i start my LS400 a big cloud of white smoke comes out my exhaust! any answers? i do have a power steering leak....and the cam and crank seals is leaking oil.....

Had the same problem with my 97LS about three weeks ago.Turned out to be water in the gas.Added one bottle of "HEET" to the gas tank and let the car idle for a few minutes and the problem disappeared.

please search, probably a bad air control valve on the PS pump.

I had the same issue with mine. When I would start the car, for about 10 seconds a thick cloud of smoke would pour out. It was a power steering leak.

thanks for the input.....i do suspect the power steering leak, air control valve.....

I just purchased a used power steering pump and Air control valve but after looking at the pics I believe the Air control valve comes with the pump ??

Or maybe the seller just didn't take it off.....

If so im getting ready to have 2 Air control valves...

If this is the case and you need one PM me and I will sell it at cost + shipping.

I got it online and paid $81.00

if you look at the other threads, most folks just block off said ACV. that is your culprit.
