Need alternator help!!!!!!
hi i have a 1995 ls400 and my alternator quit so went to replace it and seems someone broke the pigtail that plugs into the alternator and decided to just to connect the wires to the alternator. well i didnt know this and pulled the wires off without keeping them in order ... so now i need to find out witch order the colored wires go into the alternator please help!!! does anyone have a pic of the pigtail plug so i now the correct order to plug them in?

yellow wire goes to #1 (L)
black/red goes in the middle to #2 (IG)
white goes to #3 (S)
make sure you correctly figure out which is #1 (L) and which #3 (S)
Looking at the alternator receptacle with the latch tab on top, the #1 pin is on the left, #2 pin in the middle and the #3 on the right.
as far as replacing the connector:
a LOT of different Toyota models all throughout the 90's, including the trucks, used this three wire alternator plug, go to any good pull-a-part junkyard with a good selection of imports and you ought to be able to round up 3 or 4 of these connectors with pigtail within 10 or 15 minutes! (not that you need 3 or 4, but I would get 2 while I was there) - and you will probably be charged a whopping $2 for each
