99LS400 ... I wonder is there is another use for the Phone outlet?
Hey bros I always wonder if there's another useful way to use the car phone outlet , or to install something else in there ... does anyone know of another useful way for that thing ??

Sorry I wasn't that clear at first , I'm talking about the car phone jack ... My Ls comes with a car phone , the phone is missing but the phone wire is there ... Is there any alternative uses for that wire ??

I don't think you could really reuse it for anything other than a Lexus phone system which is essentially obsolete, as the analog signal spectrum has been phased out in favor of digital signals. I've read posts on here from people who claim to be using the phone antenna as a radio antenna, but don't quote me on that. What you could do, if you really want a functioning "Lexus phone system," would be to procure one (junkyard, eBay, etc.), and retrofit it with Bluetooth innards. Even then, you would just have a glorified Bluetooth headset.

The middle front pin of the driver side connector under the air vents you see when the console lid is up is an audio system mute. I had a Nokia phone system mute wire connected to it but took that out last year. I don't remember if any of the other pins provided power or ground. There is also a phone coax antenna cable under the console that leads to the trunk.
