the crank rotates twice for each turn of the camshaft - so you will have to turn the crank at least twice to see if it is going to line up

lol the mark being off doesn't mean the timing is off. Regardless you need to rotate the crank a few times so it all comes back into alignment to check that anyways. What matters is the relation between both cams and the crank. If yours was off by as much as you're showing you wouldn't have much left in the way of valves anymore.

Not necessarily. To accurately use the timing marks you have to pull the crankshaft pulley iirc (the crank mark is on the bottom of the crank itself).
P16 of engine mechanical, '99 LS400. Yet another reason I say to find a timing light and check to make sure you're between 8-12* BTDC with the jumpers tripped, with a warm car at idle, in Neutral.

if the mark on the outside of the pulley is not in alignment with the interior marks, then the woodruff key has come out and you have much bigger problems than just a timing belt!

So I got my car check out and the timing is dead on and correct! I am going to change the camshaft sensor and go from there. Now I was thinking since I had the p0430 code before due to exhaust leak can that go long and trigger the o2 to go bad and could possibly cause this code now?

Okay so got the bank 1 sensor replace, clear the code drove a bit and it came back on. So next I think I will try to patch up the leak and probably replace the o2 sensor. But can that exhaust leak lead to a bad o2 and then causing the code I have now?
