Default 95+ brakes onto a 93.

So i have 2 ls400's. I am looking at doing a build on the 93 and i am planning to swap over the brake systems between the cars. I don't want to build the 97 due to emission reasons. So my questions is has anyone taken the 95+ brakes and swapped them onto the earlier ones? Is it as simple as just taking the calipers/rotors off and reconnecting the lines or am i looking at swapping knuckles etc.

Not to be rude, but a simple search would have answered all of your questions.

The calipers and rotors will bolt up without any issues. The brake lines will also work. The only thing other than the brakes that you have to swap out is the lower ball joint. You have to use the ones from the 95 model with the 95 brakes. I just did mine a few months ago on my 93. Goodluck!

And trim or replace the splash shields due to the discs being a larger diameter.

i did search all i found was a bunch of half thread where people assumed stuff and were in the process of trying stuff out but never reported back.

Anyways thanks. Why must the ball joints be swapped out as well?

The 95+ calipers are too big and hit the ball joint arm. You wont even be able to bolt them on. The 95+ ball joints are made different so they clear the calipers.
