Default Upgraded to the LS430

Hey guys,

I just wanted to thank everyone for all their help and advice over the past two years. I really appreciate it. I also don't plan on moving on from helping others and offering advice / opinions. Even if I'm not always right... I loved my 400 but I was ready for the next step up and wanted something newer. She has a few more miles then mine but drives like a dream. Not going to touch the suspension this time...

Here are a few pics:

That's a really nice LS! The saddle interior looks great on that color.

Default Upgrade?

Is the LS430 really an upgrade from the LS400?I see twice as many LS400s on the street in my area as LS430s.Beautiful car though.

Thanks. It's an 04. That 6 speed transmission really makes a difference. You can cruise at higher speeds (75-80) and still maintain 27 mpg. Great for a big heavy car.

maybe it's due to selective seeing as in you will only notice what you want to notice.

take an experiment, find toyota MR-2s starting now. you'll notice more and more of them, just like a UCF30.

I own a 96 LS400 and a 03 LS430. From my experience the 430 is a step up in every catagory, particulary the power difference between those model years. However, since I am a "saver" by nature and not a "spender" I always try to place all the miles on the older 400 and try to keep the 430 as nice as I can. That being said, there is just something about driving the LS400, it's more tank-like and I believe the 1uz and the 4speed tranny are just awesome together. The newer cars with 5-6-7plus gears seem to hunt more for gears---could be just me though.

I've never been a big fan of the "saddle leather". BUT as I was scrolling down the page and got to the interior, I thought to myself "Man that is nice!"

Very clean and good looking car.

Wow - that exterior color is just sick! - what is the factory name for it?

the saddle interior is also fast growing on me - it is shockingly different! - makes it look like a German car

you may have just changed my opinion on the looks of the LS430

I thought I was going to do a facepalm when I went to read this thread, but now I am jealous!

The exterior is Briarwood Pearl and interior is Saddle. The exterior I like too because it looks different in the direct sunlight.
