Yes, credit should go to CL member munday - I have seen Amayama and been wondering about their business, but was unsure if they were legit until his confirmation.

Default Discussion Taking Wrong Turn

Talk about discussion taking a wrong turn. The original poster wanted to know the availability of REAR Upper Control Arm.

Still, information like Amayama is a valuable information. Do you think the Lexus owners will flock to the site to make purchase and drive up the selling price?

Thanks guys

i've posted slightly more detail in the UCA thread regarding my Amayama order. I've even gone to the extent of ordering brand new camber bolts just to see them turn up (they did obv). My friend wanted a new water pump for his 3UZ, came with new bolts, O rings, gaskets etc as you'd expect

Now, back to the REAR UCA, did a quick search so I'm not seen as a let down

This was for a '98 LS400:

Toyota 4877059015 ARM, SUSPENSION 132.73 USD
Toyota 4879059015 ARM, SUSPENSION 132.73 USD

I assume everyone on here has access to, and uses the online parts and diagrams reference for Toyota/Lexus? You can PM me for info

Owning a Toyota Glanza many years ago means I have been a member on there for years so never had an issue with viewing parts diagrams

I think an increase in people using this service can only be a good thing. Bigger sample size, more custom for them and it also shows that there is still a great demand for these old Lexus parts

I see that Michael has a '93, which is more expensive

Toyota 4877050010 ARM, SUSPENSION 246.68USD
Toyota 4879050010 ARM, SUSPENSION 246.68USD

Be aware that they may not always be the cheapest, don't put all your eggs in their basket

Question is how much is shipping and then if you get stuck with duty taxes fees it might end up being more than from Sewell. (for us state side folks)

Best bet is to get a quote mate, can't comment on shipping a import tax to the US, maybe you can find some sources with a quick google?

I have never paid any duty for items I have imported from Japan

USA seems to be the most duty-free country

so the main question is the actual shipping cost on two UCA's

According to the quote I received from Jason, about $65 shipping cost to Central CA.
So my quote with two front UCA for a '98 was just under $500 with shipping.

I just checked again. $452. So two for the price of one!

Raybestos Pro seems to get high marks, and at last check they were made in Taiwan (which is a very good thing), and that is very tempting for $117 (front UCA's) each at rock auto (although that was for a 96, a 98 may be slightly different price)

I've been driving on them for the past 3 days. nearly 300miles on them now. Made in Taiwan is a good thing.

so heres my rear upper quote. I'd rather spend the extra money and get it in less than 5days state side vs waiting upto 14 days EMS.
