r-12 system with r-134a in it
I have an r-12 ac system. My ac has not been blowing cold so I brought one of those r-134a cans they sell at the auto parts store where u just connect it to the low side line n shoot it in the system. It was a 19oz can that had 16oz of the refrigerant n 3oz of oil. I put the can into my system n realized that my car requires r-12. (Rookie mistake. I know). But if I leave it in my system will this create a problem or will I be okay

unless he got hold of one of those darn R-12 to 134a adapters, that allow you to do the wrong thing

If you DID get the adapters and put the r-134a straight into the system without flushing it first, then yes, you will have issues if you leave it that way.
The two are not compatible. as an example, both use different types of lubricating oil. the mineral oil that works with the R-12 will not mix with the R-134A, and you will risk damaging the bejesus out of the compressor.
