Default New TB, won't start

1994 Lexus LS400: Won't start -- turns over and begins to start and shuts down. Any sugestions?

Back story -- Just installed bew timing belt following instructioins at lexls.com, specically http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html.

The belt is timed according to the marks on the eninge. Checked the timeing by turning the engine 2x as instructions and it came around on the button.

We installed all new parts as suggested (over $500)

Now it sounds like it's ready to start but suddenly it shuts down; starter turns fine.

Someone suggested that it might be the security system...

PS: posting this in various locations hoping for a ****ion. Thanks.

What's the procedure for a single person to check it?

Odds are timing is off or there is a connector not re connected. You just did a major repair odds are something was assembled incorrectly or not at all. Check fuses and relays and links. If my pull the rear seat bAck off you should be able to hear the pump prime when the key hits the on position.

Got thinking that that all the re-tries had depleated the battery quite a bit. An overnight charge broaght her back to full. Seems a bit better; turns over and fires then shuts down.

Came across an article that the security sys could do this, an another mechanic that has performed this job a few tines mentiones the secury sys.

How do I fix this? It has always been lit and now it isn't. I don't have the remote key. Will i nned one?

[ I hate this fancy keyboard; the stroke I'm still working though]

Lock and unlock the door with the key. This should disable the alarm.

Default LS, you must consider...

Ouch, ouch, stop it LS; you're cracking me up. Curiously, his first post was well written, with decent grammar. Maybe he had a stroke or something. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry about that. I did proof it, then added more line and didn't recheck. My KB likes to move the curser in mid type and if I don't find it again I re-set it with the mouse,..does't help that the curser is inveisble on this site.

I AM recovering from a stroke. That's why I have someone else working on the car. I can take as long as a 1/2 hour to post a single query.

Nearest dealer I know of is in North Kansas City, about 60 miles from me.

The only key we have is a simple after market onel. The fob was lopst by they to Previonus Onwer (PO).

Must I have the fob to reset?

For a year, the red security light has ben on while driving, turning off when parked. Now, it is off.

I did attempt the reset it by running up the windows, and using the key I have I locled and re licked 4 cycles. The red light cam on and eventurally turned off.

Does that mean anuthing?

I am not sure if you will be forced to get a full uncut key and matching receiver to mount in the trunk and have key cut and then remote button programmed, but if you do they are available from Sewell I believe and not cheap.

you could just forget the wireless part and have the dealership make you a real master key from your VIN, after showing proof of ownership, those aftermarket keys can have security issues

Thanks. I didn't know what to ask for. Never heard the term "Master Key."

Wold that restore the remote entry? Or...with the car in their hands can they rest the security?

My wife just asked a good question.

Our dash only lights up when the temp is very hight (100 ^ about) -- I know how that works and plan to fix that and the dash backlight strips in September when my buddy gets back from Europe. In fact, we plan to through the various "brains" and refesh them. He has be rebuilding circuit boards for over 25 yr. Besides, I canty solder that well these days.

My wife's question: Is the dash being dead a possible issue with the security system?
