well a Lexus with that kind of mileage can be made to be a super dependable car (mostly via labor, rather than expensive parts), and the price sounds great, but just remember one thing, when buying any car, whether it is $900, $9000, or $90,000 , you don't want to spend your last buck in purchasing it, because there will inevitably be a few little issues when you first get it.

Even something as simple as needing new tires is often overlooked, that alone costs $600 or more for good ones. Needing the brakes done or the timing belt is another example, not cheap unless you do it yourself, and tires, brakes, timing belt are not optional repairs!

if you are good with wrenches, these are pretty cheap to run, overall, because they don't break in ways that break the bank, and they rarely break at all, especially the expensive things (engine, transmission, A/C)

Good point especially on the timing belt. Unless you have documentation of when it was last done, you may need to spring for that one right away.

Agreed, though one thing to keep in mind is that if you're going to be driving a 200k+ mile luxury car, you are either going to be spending a ton of money fixing all the little things, or living with a certain number of the little things being broken. You just have to decide what level of "character" you're willing to live with. Same applies to a non-luxury car, or course, the main difference being the luxury car has more "little things" to break.

But absolutely the major systems: engine, transmission, suspension, etc are bulletproof with nominally decent care.

I hate to bring this post back for nothing, but WOW, an LS400 for 900 and only 200k miles? I would have bought just to hold on to it and brag that I got it for less than a grand. Mine is at 199k and runs incredible. With this particular car, not sure of any other, being at 200k miles is not a deal breaker at all, especially with it being in the decent condition described.

please realize you'll only get another 200k to 300k out of it.
