Default Sun Roof Problem

All the way down

All the way up

Notice this today, never happened before. It was fine yesterday... Any ideas?

I hope someone didn't try to break through the roof

Doesn't look like there are any scratches or signs of break-in. Maybe it has come off track somehow? Does it still slide back into the roof, or is that all it will do?

Yeah, it's able to slide back. Just that side won't go up for some reason

Spray some white lithium grease on the tracks and the rail joints and see if it loosens it up. The arm on that side is getting stuck for some reason. If that does not work it is a pretty expensive job to get that sunroof looked at by a pro since you have to remove the headliner to get into the internals. I actually still have my sunroof out of the car trying to figure out some issues with the motor. It has stumped me for the longest bcuz if i press tilt it will slide back and forth instead of up and down. I'm actually trying to find a reputable shop to look at it now. Just don't keep trying to force it since you could possibly damage the sunroof motor and thats an even worse problem.

Well I've had the whole sunroof out of the car and took it apart so many times that I'm stumped. There is a reference in the manual realigning the motor but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm going to bite the bullet and take it to a sunroof shop and hope it does not cost an arm and leg. I even bought a used sunroof complete from the junk yard and both motors exhibit the same problem. My motor was working when I took it out but the rails were seized so it was not in the fully closed position and I think that might be the problem.

You have to snap the 4 covers off and then you will see the 4 bolts that hold the glass. This is from inside the car.

It's at the end of the cable where the sliding rail is
