Alignment at Firestone...Caster not in Spec, what to do?
Just got the 4 Wheel alignment at Firestone... 2000 LS
Was surprised when I got the spec sheet, that I had to ask for, showed the caster still not to be in spec....
What's the deal?
Had a slight pull to the right at speed that I was trying to get rid of.
Tires have less than 10k on them.
No accidents on the vehicle.
Normal for Alignment to be completed and not be in Spec per the printout?

did you ask them which suspension component is so worn out, that they cannot bring the car into proper alignment?
if they can't answer that question correctly, then they have no business even doing an alignment in the first place, much less repairing the car
here is a hint: Avoid Firestone, Sears, Jiffy Lube, and most all chain automotive places.
why, hell no! - you know better than that! - when they finish a proper alignment, if their machine is properly calibrated and operated correctly, the alignment should be dead on as per the specs in the factory service manual

I was afraid of that... just didn't want to admit it...
But you're right...LScowboy...
Off to my real mechanic to see what parts are worn so much to cause this...
Wasted money...

the strut rod bushings are called "Strut Bar Cushion" by Toyota, p/n 48674-40051
this is likely the part you will need to purchase from a Lexus dealership - qty. 2

Last time i had my LS400 alignment done, they couldn't get the front left Caster to be dead on (likely the same strut rod issue and some front end wear) and the rear left toe was a hair off off because they said that one of the adjustment bolts was seized and they were afraid they were going to damage it or something else if they cranked on it too hard. So yeah, they should be able to tell you EXACTLY why things are not lining up
A reputable frame and axle place would be good for this if you know of any. There's a place downtown here that does excellent work and they get all sorts of stuff sent to them from body shops after cars have been demolished and rebuilt.
