So here is a list of the most premium oil filters that work great on all LS models from 1990-2006 and give you ~60% more volume as well as premium features on the inside of the filter such as a silicon anti-drainback valve and high quality bypass valve of the same PSI setting as the stock Toyota filter.

Oh how I love big oil filters rather than the smaller one that came on our car!

here is the list of the world's most premium oil filters, in oversize, which I can expand if I have missed your favorite brand:

Bosch Premium --- D3422
LsCowboy, the shop would not install D3422 but would only install D3330 which, is about 1.5 inches smaller vs D3422.

I can understand as it is the one listed in their manual. I wish I could just do it myself but It would just be a huge pain to do it on the street. Also, since I am 2" lower I can't drive her on up on ramps anymore.

Anyway, am I missing out with the smaller D3330? Packaging has the exact same specs on it but the filter was obviously not as big. Also put in Mobile 1 5w30.

Happy 4th to everyone as well!

I built a long step up ramp out if wood. I saw the plans on another site. Makes it a breeze to drive up on it with a lowered car now.

I usually just drive up onto a 2x6 and than use my low profile jack and put her on stands. Much safer and I can take the wheels off. Seen too many ramp related accidents.

I have been contemplating getting a decent jack and some stands. Their a dime a dozen on Craigslist.

the 3-ton jack from harbor freight is a steal when it goes on sale for $69

or if you are wealthy, get all-aluminum jacks and jackstands also from harbor freight, the 3 ton on that one is quite well built as well

Can you comment on my question above for Bosh D3422 vs D3330?

D3330 is fine, but personally I would only deal with a shop that listens to ME and puts whatever filter I decide I want on the car.

I agree. I have a local shop that I usually go to but being the 4th I went to a cooperate shop and I can understand their questioning my choice if it is not listed as compatible. You know, liability reasons.

I had a few cuts of 1x12" so I stacked them. I won't be bale to get under the car but this is enough to be able to reach in for oil and tranny fluid servicing.
