Default Driver Seat has the Twisties....

Earlier today as I was reclining back my seat I realized that it was going down at an angle and realized that the seat was twisting. Not sure what is causing this problem it has never been an issue before. Only difference now is that it was EXTREMELY hot these past 2 days (over 100 degrees in San Diego) and I also have the seat backs removed for both seats to install my Bentley style rear trays. Now is there a way that the heat could've damaged components in there. What is the main cause of this fault and how can it be fixed??? Thanks in advance I am looking forward to fixing this soon. I would hate to have to go to the junkyard and get a whole new seat.

by twisting did you mean that one side of the seat in reclining faster than the other? i recall reading a gear fix for this awhile back. let's see if i can find it.

Yes exactly one side is adjusting and the other isn't. I was searching and found those threads but a lot of pictures weren't working and no specific arrows or highlights are shown and it is hard to even locate the shaft in their pictures. Is it in the lower part of the seat back? I might just be removing my seat soon and checking it out outside of the car to attempt some kind of repair. Downside is obviously no power to the seat to test it after an attempted repair unless I just throw the seat back in the car. And I am paranoid about taking out and putting back in as I do not want to damage the paint and interior leather with metal brackets....
