4 years old new starter, not starting car!
I own LS400, 2000 model
I had starting isues before four years from now (in 2009), i have replaced the starter that time with new OEM starter, car was runing fine until yesterday, it started again to have starting issue.
When i turn the key, i hear the click sound. But when i turn key and press petrol pedal engine crank slowly, but does not start.
I have checked battery terminal which are clean.
Checked battery voltage, which is 12v
Replaced the spark plug with OEM parts
But still same issue
Do i need to replace the starter again?
OMG those starters are miss in LS!!
Any ideas guys!

Why would pressing the gas pedal make it crank slowly?
I would test the battery before tearing into the starter.
Usually when a starter fails it will just click, no?
When I had one die it clicked. And if I kept clicking, it eventually it caught.
And a battery can still have 12 volts and be bad. You want to check the cranking amps.

Battery was dead, my voltmeter was giving wrong readings!
Old battery was not giving enough power 12v to run the starter to crank theengine.
it was interesting, I have tested the battery manually by turning headlightthen trying to turn key to crank the engine, this caused headlights to turnoff, which gave me clue that battery is dead.

Just replaced it and now car starts normally.
I have tested alternator after battery replacement , and it is charging probably.

At least you didn't tear your motor apart.
Always start with the simple easy stuff first.
My buddy was having trouble with a truck. It wasnt getting fuel. So he bought a rebuild kit for the throttle body injection. After installing it, it still wouldn't fire. I checked it out and there was no power to the fuel injectors. Fuel injectors are hot when the key is on and is fired by the ecu grounding the injector.
Well the fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse and she fired right up.
