Default Swapped my tranny mount - Got rid of a lot, no just have high speed shake at like 70+

While on the lift I confirmed that my tranny mount was in fat bad. Finally got it on and wow what a difference at idle, low speeds and low free way speeds. But I still have a slight shake, steering vibration after 65mph. It seems to cycle too, its not like a constant vibration. And most noticeable on smooth pavement. Not the lined concrete surfaces on some freeways.

I think my driver side upper control arm ball joint is bad. So I ordered a new one of those to replace it with. Would worn strut rods also cause a vibration? My tires/wheels are brand new and should be fine. But I will have them balanced and rotated on monday just to verify.

But in your guys experiences, which mounts or suspension bushings are the main culprit? My car is a 2000 LS400 with 101,000 miles on her.

Thanks for all the help guys

My strut rod bushings must have been in really bad shape by the time I had them replaced at 86,671 miles since I had extreme vibrations at highway speeds and cross winds blew the car around. New OEM strut bars and bushings completely eliminated the vibrations and wandering. Several shops had tried to figure it out but it was a Lexus dealer alignment mechanic who figured it out. The car is now at 163K and the replacement strut rods/bushings still seem OK.

I had my transmission mount replaced at 150,000 miles. I had a very slight vibration I could feel through the steering wheel but the new OEM transmission mount didn't change anything. The original transmission mount looked like new - no signs of compression or cracking. I'm sure it was the original mount since I've owned the car since 38K/3 years old and have all maintenance records. Maybe they wear out faster in hotter areas of the U.S.
