Default 92 LS Distributor Cap/Rotor Change and Clean TB???

Hello, the last 3 things I would like to clean and change on my 92 LS with 113,000 is the distributor cap, rotor and clean the throttle body. I have read the write ups on lexls.com and google searched for info. The throttle body cleaning seems simple but all the info I find on the distributor cap and rotor seem like you have to remove alot of stuff. I just changed out my power steering pump and replaced the plugs and plug wires so I have had the engine disassembled a good bit. Just looking for any tips or easier ways to clean and change out these items.

Thanks very much!

Rotors and caps should have been done when you did plugs and wires. Since you had it apart than now you have to do it again.

Cleaning the throttle body the way without removing it only gets it halfway clean. Its ok but add some good cleaner to fuel tank or try a BG system cleaner service at a auto shop.

Yeah I know. I didn't have the $ at the time so I'll be doing some extra work. I will be removing the throttle body to clean it.

Ordered a set of Bosch distributor caps and rotors today also got a new thermostat. I might as well change that too while I'm right there.

Report if the distributor and wires did anything. I am still on the original ones and I am convinced they are good , I got 165k and 21 years on them. Reason I say so is because my acceleration is to spec. Anyone else use acceleration, 0 to 60 to determine if the car is running as it should? (as well as mpg)

Don't forget your coolant temp sensor while you are at it. 14 bucks at autozone

Will do, my plugs and wires were the originals and they were in pretty bad shape so I'm guessing the distributor and rotors may be the same. It will give me piece of mind anyway.

Now you tell me! The Bosch meet or exceed the manufacturers specs. At least that's what they say.

Good to hear, I'm doing the install tomorrow. I also picked up a coolant temp sensor like suggested.
