I found this topic https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-goes-bad.html

I will measure the sensor. If its not in the tolerance i will replace it.

I also will follow your instruction yamae and check the timing again

So i really broke the sensor while removing it. I don't measure any resistance.

Code 13 is clear now.

I also whould like to know whats with the code 21 (main oxygen sensor, leftbank) Is the o2 sensor broken? can i measure it?

Also whould like to know who has experience buying the idler and tensioner pulley from rockauto. How is the quality ?

an O2 sensor code doesn't necessarily mean an O2 sensor itself is bad, sometimes it is just not liking what it is smelling!

O2 sensors can be checked measuring the output voltage. It swings and it should be nearly 0V - 0.9V.

Finally i had some time today to change the parts. I bought the parts from rockauto, not so happy about the sending procedures but ok.

The parts look good, and the airtex cam-shaft sensor is a original toyota sensor ! I thought it whould be a aftermarket one. The pulley's from Dayco are good quality seems to be same as 'original'.

The cel light is off now, and the traction control is working again. So the timing-belt did not jump, im happy with the car again.

are you saying you received an OEM NipponDenso cam sensor in an Airtex box? - that would be way cool!

please post pics of sensor and box!

So, your JDM Celsior is spending happy days now there in Netherlands with the newer ECU, the new timing belt and other new parts replaced by yourself. I'm sure it is running better than before. Congratulations on your success and your DIY mind.

Hope you keep it longer. As a guy who knows the car's secrets some, let's keep in touch with. My intention is just to help people who love Celsior or LS400 and want to keep them longer by the DIY.

Incidentally I also feel not very happy with Rockauto's sending procedures.

Hi Yamae, thanks for your reply ! I'm very pleased with the car now, it only drinks so much fuel... I still have to check that out. It's an old car, and the engine (121.450km) haven't had much maintanence back in Japan. So all that work is up to me haha. I'm planning to keep the car for a long time, but if my wallet won't let me in the future she will go eventually.

Cowboy:

The new sensor had the same part-nr only the production nr's were different. It looks identical.

the list of correct capacitors for your year of LS400 are listed in post #1 of my ECU capacitors guide

make sure they are the exact premium Japanese low-ESR ones that I have the links to, as these have been carefully selected by myself and yamae to be the correct type for your LS400
