Default DIY Auto Zone chrome grill poor-boy mod

Saw this in TaffyK20si's thread:

and because I have neither the know-how to navigate YAJ nor the finances to afford a badgeless grill, I decided to drop the $30 on to rolls of 1/2" chrome stripping from my local auto parts store and give it a shot.

I like it overall but I think all that chrome is a little bright for my car, a little too "flashy"...You can still see the outline of the "L" when you're up close because I opted to not cut the surround out as I thought it might be structural and I'm lazy (mainly the latter) but because of the flashiness of the new setup I'm thinking I'm gonna remove the grill again and spray it, along with the rear emblems black.

Or at least I plan to, I am really lazy.

Doesn't look half bad actually.

Are your wheels redrilled or you have adapters?

A flat black grill with looks good on the white cars. Just don't paint the L. Plus its cheap and easy to do. Just a thought.

Better shots, I need to redo at least the lower-most one. I can do better with the spacing.

Up close of the "L" remnants. I need to figure out what I want to do about this.

Dremel kit, started this project out with the intention of cutting out the "L" surround but had second thoughts so I just did it as the pictures show. I'll probably end up cutting it later on.
