Default Power Steering Problems

Hello
I bought a 92 LS 400 with what i was told needing a power steering pump. Well i put it on and it made no difference its still super hard to steer and the new pump whines like the old one ? I flushed the new one and have been trying to get what i think is air out but to no avail . I even cleaned the screen off the sillinoid it was full but still made no difference . I have no leaks anywhere . any Ideas??

Thanks

It can take some time to get the air out of the system, are you doing it with the front wheels off the ground or at least stood on glossy magazines?
Is the replacement PS pump new.used.recon?

All I have been told is it would be leaking if the rack is bad but I have no clue. I can't think what else it might be

I kindda have the same problem with my 99LS , it gets hard at times and there is no leak , but I noticed the fluid a bit burned ... Its a lexus thing with the steering wheel stiffness , the only way to make sure everything is fixed is to change the Rack&Pinion and the pump ...

recently did it on my LS. Annoying as hell but not too complicated. Have fun benchpressing the new rack into place.

LS400's don't have steering dampers, so don't worry about that.

And unfortunately I am in the Denver area, so I wont be able to help you out in person.

I will be pulling my rack in order to do the engine mounts pretty shortly here, i will let you know how it goes.
