2nd gen cars had a button to turn the chirp on/off, no ****.
Yeah, I just find the arm sound to be a bit low when there is other noise on the street. I think this is more of a habit that I usually arm the lock as I am walking away and I like to hear the confirmation. What's hillarious is **** is **** out if your not logged in.
While on vacation, I was very annoyed at the arming chirps of the cars in the parking lot. This is a quiet location so having to hear these was intrusive. Worst offenders are Honda where it is the horn followed by certain GM cars.
As for the push button in the Lexus, I have ours off. The lights flashing are sufficient but even that is annoying to me.

I just want to know why you were sleeping in the parking lot? You know, when I go on vacation I try to stay away from that area. The first day with the car, about a year ago, I tested the alarm after cleaning the car with it halfway inside the garage! That was a mistake...
