How often do you change your differential oil?

I remember now, they have the GL-5 and other certifications on the back of the bottle. I had the dealer put my Lucas Oil in without any questions because it is the same ratings but better quality. Replacing the washer and bolt each change is smart too.

if you guys plan on changing out dif or trans oil, might as well go ahead and buy a new, MAGNETIC drain plug. it could probably be had for $10-15 online. the next step after that, if you have the time and means, would be to swap out that dif gasket even if it isnt leaking.
also, im not sure about toyotas, but in most transmission, at least in the nissan world, call for GL 4, so dont put a gl5 or gl4/5 hybrid oil in the transmission. the reason is that the trans uses yellow metals (copper/bronze/brass) and GL 5 has more (twice as many as gl 4) sulfur additives that are will attach/eat those yellow metals. the diff doesnt have yellow metals and those sulfur additives help keep the gears clean/lubed. after visiting autozone, pepboys, and oreilly, napa is the only place i found that has gl 4 oil.
i know thats a lot of unasked for info, but im just trying to help yall out

Sorry, I read that as "differential"--since this is a differential oil thread and I've never heard of anyone using anything GL in a transmission (only Type F, Dex III, Toyota T-IV etc..) EDIT: Ok I read on, I guess they use gear oil in manual transmissions? I've never changed manual transmission oil before--always serviced cars with automatics.

Just to note, they also strip because whomever wrenching them is heavy handed. Most these fasteners have a wide margin for torque specs so if unsure how much you are applying, a torque wrench is good practice. This also means buying a reasonable torque wrench that isn't off by a huge margin.
