Default LS400 vs. Toyota Springs

Hey Guys,
I have a 93 LS400 and was wondering if coils from a Toyota would fit. If so, what year and Style Toyota?

Thanks,
Mark

The availability of specific LS400 lowering coils from Tanabe or adjustable coils from Megan, BC...this would be an unnecessary exercise. I'm sure it can be done if you want to experiment
If you need stock, plenty are available in the wrecking yards.

Thanks.... Don't need stock, I was just wondering if they were the same.

Edit: If that's your ride in the signature - I really like how you have it set up.

YES!

your LS400's coils (p/n 90919-02197) were used in MANY Toyota models, including most all of the 4 cylinder Camrys from 94-96 and most all of the 4runners and Tacoma trucks from 92-96 and a couple other models I can't remember off the top of my head.

HAHA - Coils is what I was referring to.

Did some searching, is there a Toyota / Lexus Cross Reference parts guide on CL?

Thanks for the response....

title edited.
no, no factory toyota or other model lexus springs or aftermarket coilover made for a different model will fit properly nor be modified to work perfectly in your LS400.

Other than minor electrical parts and fasteners, and a few small parts, the LS400 is pretty much bespoke, very little swaps in/out from other toyota/lexus cars of the era. That being said, we do have threads on the components that do, such as some brakes, ignition/fuel pieces, and etc.

Plenty of aftermarket companies make coilovers for the LS, the most popular being Megan (LP street and EZ street), BC Racing, PBM, and Tanabe/Cusco/etc... (most JDM companies make coils though they are harder to find).

Why do you want to replace the factory Springs anyways, unless they're broken they aren't really going to wear....

Please read the stickies at the top of the forum for more information.

I searched a Toyota/Lexus/Scion cross reference which indicated that the 1993 LS400 springs - front and back - are not used on any other models.

If you want to preserve the ride then Tanabe with KYB's is a great combo. Check out my garage to see how they look.
