So this is a THREE year model cycle? That's really short.

I think this "major design overhaul" will be more like a facelift, similar to how the '98 LS was a revised version of the '95 LS. In '98 the wheelbase did not change(just like the '04's wheelbase will not) but the exterior was very much updated. Basically, IMO the '04 update of the LS430 will be just like the '98 LS400 update of the '95(3y) and could turn out to be a big improvement aesthetically.

Obviously it is true what I recently told you about the 2004 model year. But that Lexus will do that much to its flagship sedan that wasn`t even in my dreams. Well, lets wait and see, but I am sure that they will improve a lot of things.

Well its about time!
I doubt Lexus is going to do anything with the doors or the rear quarters because it would cost too much to touch those areas.
Thats sad, because this is where the LS needs the improvement.
Personally, I think the front end of the 430 looks pretty good right now.
Where do you guys think the LS needs the most amount of improvement?
Does anyone have any pics or more info on this???
Also, Autoscoops.tk is usually one of the first sites to get new info about future models.

One criticism I have is that the current LS looks too tall . I know they want more headroom to suit the N.American market, but they can try to hide it by giving it a smoother, sloping roofline to make it look more sleek. I guess they have to wait until the next major redesign to do that.

Autospies info is usually pretty accurate. Hopefully, they are right with the '04 LS430. I will be in the market for a large luxury sedan in the '04/'05 timeframe and it will be very interesting to see what the new LS will look like.

The LS430 may look "too tall", but the the increased height is one reason that I bought it instead of the present generation S class. It has reduced height compared to the previous generation, which I had. It's very nice to be able to enter the car without ducking the head so much, and it's nice to be able to sit in a more erect position. To me no other car has as comfortable driver seating position as the LS430. The styling aspect of the LS430 that needs the most work is the rear of the car, imo.

Default Things I want to change

1. The huge wheel gap in the front needs to be fixed. Some LS430 appears like rear heavy and it looks pretty bad.

2. Needs lower rear skirt, lower side's skirt, and just a little lower front skirt. The rear taper from mud guard location to the bumper too abrupt. Rear apperars to flat and too square just like old Avalon rear.

3. Front bulge in the midlle where the grill is located needs trimming. It looks good from exact frontal view and exact side view, but bad from in between views.

4.The LS430 body seems too wide in relations to its wheel locations. Wheels have to be move outwards and make them almost flush with the side panels.

5.The "learning your driving style transmission" has to go. It creates lag when accelerating. Press the pedal fully, it will wait for computer feedback, then needle hits the red zone and it will accelerate more than what you want.

6. Seats have to modified, it needs better support for cornering even by luxury sedans standards. Maybe too narrow for some people. Bottom cushions needs thigh bolsters on the sides like the GS.

7. Climate control buttons for regulating temp needs to be moved so steering wheel will never block it.

8. Rear seat controls for climates and radio should be moved out of the center console. You can't access it if someone or a baby car seat is placed in the middle seat.

Just my $0.02.
