My horror story-forum member in need
Hello guys,
I have a bit of a story for you guys. But before I begin, I would like to say, YES I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE SENT MY CAR TO A HONORABLE SHOP TO BE REPAIRED, BUT, money was short as well as time but now that the air is clear, I shall begin.
2 years ago, I had a ususal water pump and timing belt change that needed to take place on my vehicle. I had no money for parts so I sent it to friend of mine who swore on his life he could take care of it. I agreed and it was fine. 6 months later I got the parts, but thats when the **** hit the fan. Here we are 2 years later, my car has not been repaired, my tires have been stolen off my car and the car has been sitting outside with the hood up at times with no progress being made. After speaking to him countless amounts of times, he swears the car will still run, but he cant move it because it doesnt have tires on it. At this point, the repairs will be free, but I am afraid the car will never run again, but he SWEARS it will.
Dilema: After all of this, I still want my 92 ls400 back. I dont care. IT IS MINE. Can anyone point me in a direction or help me to get some tires on this puppy so that I may rid myself of this mechanic and get my car back to pristine condition. Even if I have to part it out to someone who needs it here. I need assitance from the LEXUS family to get this back online so I can truly begin a resoration process. Any help from you guys would be appreciated. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!

Sorry to hear. They took the tires and not the whole wheel? The cheapest route would be to find some steel wheels in the 5x114.3 pattern, cheap tires and bolt them up. If there is a CL member or you have a friend with a lex, they may have some spare wheels available. Then you can have it towed or flat bedded to a shop for repairs.

while this sucks, since the friend isn't charging him any money now (as the repairs are free) and his friend didn't steal the wheels, he wouldn't have much of a case. I would push to try and get some money out of your friend for the wheels though, as the car was his responsibility.
but as for the engine, being a non-interference motor it's probably fine, throw a TB and WP on it and it'd probably run provided...
that little woodland creatures havent nommed the wiring into shreds. does everything still power up fine with a battery?

you could verbal say something up to scare him maybe saying if car not returned within so many days you will report it stolen etc. and have someone else put in a Tip and give cops before picture? Hopefully it will work out for you
I see he has many cars there, ford, honda, hyundai, infiniti, acura, of course toyota some dodge, etc have 5 lug nuts vehicles that fit.

YEA! battery is missing too. I thinks its in the warehouse but still, it should be in MY car, so, I am a bit unsure if she powers up but i think she does. SHes a trooper. odometer stopped running at 276800 and some change on miles. original engine and trans. Im praying for a return to her former self.
