I think you're gonna have to get the "pair" if it's the transmission solenoids. If one is "dead", then the other will follow. I went and purchased through this site. Goodluck!

I got these solenoids, are they the right ones and should I replace the rest of them? Here is the link to the one I have

http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=2&Product_Code=97420AK&Category_Code=A340solenoid

Where should I get the other two or are there more?
Please help.

well those are Rostra, which can be complete crap a lot of the time. You said you didn't want universal aftermarket I thought?

are you sure you actually need shift solenoids? - Aisin A341 transmissions do not tend to have issues.

have you drained & filled the fluid to the correct amount of T-IV?

did you go through troubleshooting steps in the Lexus factory repair manual that pointed to you having bad solenoids?

The transmission has been rebuilt and I am getting error code 63 and 67. The transmission shop said the transmission is good but the problem is an electrical one. I looked up the problem and I found a forum where a guy had the same issue replaced the solenoids and was fine. Where can I get the other two solenoids.

If you want the whole story about this problem read this
http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/for...howtopic=49422

It's been a long time with no real help besides the one guy who solved his own issue.

that link is not working - do you know which of these 1991 LS Toyota part numbers are the one you suspect is the problem? - what is the symptom besides the codes?

35270-50010 - shift control solenoid

35280-50010 - lock up control solenoid

85420-50020 - transmission solenoid

have you done the electrical measurements outlined in the factory service manual at the solenoid connector (outside of transmission) and at the ECU harness connector to make sure that the solenoid is really out?

do you have the real Lexus factory service manual? - if not, you can get online a download the parts you need for $15 for an unlimited 2-3 day pass from the Toyota factory!

you also realize that a malfunctioning throttle position sensor can have the same symptoms

also not convinced that a solenoid would necessarily give you code 67 - OD direct clutch speed sensor signal malfunction

Replaced the solenoid today and the car is amazing. What a huge difference. I can actually go 0-60 in the advertised time. This has been a long road for me and this car and I feel rejuvenated to restore her.

so which solenoid did you end up buying exactly? - can you send the link where you bought it and describe which one of the four it was (like "the one closest to the rear of the car" or some description like that, of its location)

this kind of information can help others with the same problem

This is the solenoid kit I used, one you remove the transmission pan they are held
On by a bracket and one bolt. Very easy to remove. The job took 2 hours. I replaced 4 and a
Half quarts of transmission fluid.
