a semi related question, i ordered the Depo LED tails for my 96, and numerous threads have talked about resistor boxes being required to keep the dash light off of.
all the guys selling these tails on Ebay, that I contacted had no idea about where to get such boxes or if they were even included.

should the resistor boxes come with the tails or is it something i have to buy/build? wiring a resistor, or a few, inline with the tails is not difficult nor expensive but if there is a plug and play solutions, that would be much easier.

I installed LED brake lights for my 98 Celsior modifying the failure sensor unit in the trunk room.

Removing a small resistor that drives the lamp driver does not require a big high wattage resistor in parallel with LEDs. This is safer not to have the fire risks. The best merit is that the alternator and the battery do not need to supply big currents.

What about the 95-97?
Should I just pull apart the module and have a look? If I post a pic of the module opened up, would you be able to confirm this mod will work?

i got my post m/c tails off ebay. not the ones for sale by JZS, but some other one time seller and mine came with the black boxes as well. install was a breeze. i can post up pics if you still wanna see them.

A picture alone is not fully OK to judge for me. In order to determine the exact one, I need a schematic diagram.

But if the pin assignments of the unit are equal between 98-00 JDM and 95-97 USM, cutting the wire of the pin 14 would work.
