Let the car sit for a few minutes, fired it back up, everything worked again - guy tested it again, showed it was getting full power and charging fine - put it in drive, the battery light came back on, and the lights all dimmed until the car idled itself to a halt. Figure it's got to be the alternator, so there's money I didn't want to spend, seeing as the 180k interval is approaching in about 6,000 miles...
check grounds and battery terminals for corrosion. also that the drive belt and it's tensioner are in good shape.

then test the alternator itself.

last few days has been interesting, steering rack is unbolts and ready to be pulled, high pressure line is out and ready for a rebuild, and realized my IAC valve is leaking so that's either getting replaced or plugged+cleaned up once i confirm the pump is still good.

While i'm at it i'm rebuilding my front calipers as they're a little sticky, and having the front rotors turned (or end up replacing them).

moral of the story: don't let life get too far in the way of maintenance, or you end up doing a ton of it at once.

It's a no brainer that if you take good care of your cars then they will take good care of you.

Sacrifice is a big factor too if you know what I mean.

what brand? reason i ask is i just finished converting my whole interior to LED via VLED.com using 5k temp as well and they look great. however i am unsure if the color will stay that way. so far so good though!

best part was converting the trunk light into LED using a 48-LED array. so much better lighting over stock (what was toyota they thinking with a single 194 in there?).

This was a V-LED's forward throw. It had started out a light tinge different but as it aged, the color shift became more pronounced. On any other color car it may be imperceptible but on white, it was more obvious. This happens and I've seen it with emitters used in flashlight as well. BIN's vary so not all will be matching.
