Default Bad Vibration at 65 mph

I have a bad vibration on my 97 ls. From reading through the threads I've come up with Trans. mount. Can someone confirm or steer me in the right direction as far as other things to look at. I have brand new tires and they have been balanced recently also new brakes all around.

you need to be more specific
vibration in steering wheel? in suspension? front ? rear?
shimmy at high speed?
most likely it's some bad bushing or mounts.

I had vibration at high speed and the solution was as simple as having the tires balanced, so maybe your's is a tranny or a motor mount.

the tranny mount is a cheap part and quite easy to install, the other motor mounts are a pain!

Many obvious fixes where you feel the vibration relates to the wheel balance or suspension bushings. The one tech that mounted the Yokohama S-Drives on ours didn't know what he was doing. Above 45MPH, it vibrated. Not wanting to deal with that lame shop, I went to another. The tires balanced out nicely and they weren't a problem till they were worn out. If your wheels have excessive weights mounted on them, I would have another tech or shop verify the balance. If the car didn't vibrate before this tire swap, it is highly suspect.

Depending on miles, the engine and tranny mounts are replacement candidates by ~150K miles. Obvious signs would be the gear selector vibrating at idle or while driving.

My apologies, the vibration is not in steering wheel like from tires balancing or brakes. It's definately from under car like the drive shaft or rear end.

Around the gear selector and center console is where I feel the most vibration. This is where ill start engine mounts and tranny mounts.

Get the bushings checked. How old are your tires and has the car been sitting for a while? If its not the wheels, check the mounts.

+1 for the tranny mount if the vibration starts at a bit higher than 2000rpm. It's was easy for me to replace.

Michelin tires are brand new and balanced a few weeks ago.

Did the transmission mount end up fixing it? I have very similar symptoms and I can even see the gear selector rattle when worst vibrations take place. I plan on swapping it out over the next weekend or so. Updates? Did you decide to go with OEM or OE?
