I thought that the MAF did not like being cleaned. Somthing about sensitivity to solvents.

Maybe someone else can comment. If you were to clean it you would need to use specifically MAF cleaner or contact clearer, which evaporates and does not leave residue. Don't touch the MAF with anything.

Thanks Lavrishevo!

As for the timing belt tensioner, it comes in the kit I ordered. It's got the timing belt and all the components (including the water pump). I just cleaned the injectors and throttle body when I got the car, so that's done. It definitely needed it! As for the MAF I have the cleaner at the shop I work in, it's something we do on a pretty regular basis. The new serpentine belt is sitting in the trunk right now waiting to be put on, doing all of that tomorrow. Just forgot to list it on here!

I will definitely do the thermostat and Main engine temp sensor, thanks for the advice!

then you should know better...

'89-94 LS400s have a karmann vortex Air Flow Meter(AFM) which uses an optical sensor to determine airflow. these SHOULD NOT BE CLEANED.

Thanks PD! I will remember this now. Never heard of an optical AFM before.

does this mean that 95-up AFM can be cleaned? i never knew this. it does say on some of the AFM cleaners to NOT use them on toyota/lexus vehicles. they could be just covering their butts for cars with this vortex AFM.

you could clean a hot wire maf, theres a diy in the gs forum. Honestly though its not usually needed. I forget is 95-97 are hot wire or afm.

Tune up is mostly done. Got the new plugs in wires in, but ran out of time to get the rotor and cap in.

I also did the transmission drain and fill, rear differential, and an oil change. Everything was great on my way home after doing all of that, but when I got in the car to go to work this morning, I turned it on and the TRAC light popped on and didn't go off. No check engine light though, just the TRAC light. Everything seems to be fine. I know that the previous owner had an issue with that at one point, but I believe it was repaired by the dealership. Any ideas what this could be?

Usually, this has to do with a wheel speed sensor going out. The system should have a code so you can tell what error it is giving you.
