Cool New to this...

I just purchased a 1992 LS400. It is good shape. I would like to put some rims on it but im not sure exactly what size will be appropriate. I am into cars but not like some of you guys. With the charts etc.. Maybe ill get there one day. But for now all I really wanna do to the car is get me a new paint job. Detail the inside ( Clean/Restore leather interior there are no cracks or nothing I Just want it to look crisp ) Put some shoes on it, get some new headlights. I dont think i will be able to change the whole light but maybe just the bulbs or whatever. And the indicator lights. Can anybody out there help me get started. I was lookin @ the pics. N i saw a car that was not fully customized. It was in the beginning stages. It was kind of pinkish/red. I believe it had some lowenharts on it the n n the light and everything. In later pics he threw on a skirt. etc.. I dont need all of that.. All i wanna do is put some shoes n change the lights... Any suggestions??...

Congrats and welcome to CL!

You could put any size wheels on from stock 15" to 22" wheels!
I have 18" and love them. It has just enough tire wall to not dent the wheels when going over pot holes of pot hole hell city of Houston and I'm sure NY is similar.
Keep the offset around 38-45 and you should be ok.
Front wheels can be up to 8"-8 1/2" wide without rubbing and the rear can handle up to 10"-10 1/2" wide wheels without rubbing, if you like the off balance look but you got to remember going this route renders rotating wheels impossible.

Lights wise you can get clear front bumper turn lights and rear half red half white tail lights.
They can be found cheap on ebay so just do a search.

If you have any other questions just ask and I'm sure there is someone here to help you with your questions.
Good luck!
