Default EGR tube/pipe

Hello Lexus Members... I have a exhaust leak, which I located. The leak is right behind the intake where the EGR tube goes in. I hear its a common problem on the 1st gen. To me it sounds like it could be the gasket... The question is,, is it common for the gasket to go bad or more common for the pipe to be cracked?

from what i've read, it seems like its always the pipe. mine's a second gen, but the pipe was broken all the way in half when i replaced it. Thats one reason i got it so cheap, cuz the guy i bought it from thought it had a knock.

These cars are built almost like tanks, but yes, there are problems that do ocur. Gasket leaks are not that common, but broken EGR pipe is VERY common.
