My 93 has the same problem. It seems to have no passing gear when you accelerate, it is like the engine is being held back and runs like complete crap with switch set to PWR. Normal has a flat spot in rev range when you rev it at idle. I was going to check the fuel pressure and see if it is falling off.

try unplugging one coil. see it it runs at all, or runs the same.
i bought mine runnung like crap... a bicycle could pass me.

unplugged the drivers coil and it wouldnt start at all.. then unplugged the pass side coil but on the HV side still got spark to closest ground but ran the same, turned out the rotor on the passenger side exploded and the car was running on 4cyl.

Also, DO NOT clean the maf on pre 95... i did and it killed it. 400$ from autozone... lesson learned

Damn I wish I were told that sooner. I cleaned that damn maf and it runs bad. I unplugged it and it runs better. I replaced the coil on the drivers side I guess I need to replace the passenger and the maf...... damn Lexus!

you blame Lexus because you didnt pay attention and tried to clean an AFM?

right...

luckily there are mostly decent ones at most junkyards for ~$100-200.

Pre-1995 MAF sensors couldn't handle the cleaning stuff. It was a lens sort of, I heard about that B4 I ruined mine! (swoosh)
and actually, SC's are very hard to find at junkyards. I saw one at U-Pull-and-Pay it was gone in a week.
