Exclamation Upgrading the old audio system to 4 or 8 ohm amplifier.

All right quys,

I am sick of my sound system, it used to be premium but now is sucks.
After 21 years the speakers are done, even an rental car Fait 500 has better sound.
I was brainstroming on what can and what can't. The wires are Ohm free only the amplifier and speakers are bound to the 2 ****ty ohms that rule now. I have the fat mauals and the wiring diagrams are printed and lay out in front of my nose.
But i lack insight experience in rerading these diagrams.

What is want is the following:

1) I want to take out the old woofer amplifier and replace it with an 4- 8 ohm standard amplifier.
2) Then i want to make a connection or with a connector between the new woofer amplfier and the old wiring harness.
3) Finally i want to replace the exisitng woofer for aftermarket one.
5) Then i want to open the radio unit wich is attached to the amplfier and tapedrive.
6) I want to take out thee parts and components that make it 2 ohm running.
7) Replace those for standrard ohmage parts.
8) upgrrade the power of the unit for more RMS per channel

*) Put in extra battery

Any advice on this anyone tried this allready problably ?

I start the search on the web now.

I'm no car audio genius but it sounds to me like your trying to do it the REALLY hard way. Why not just have an audio shop put in a nice aftermarket head unit, amp, new speakers, and wire it up for you? Or just do it yourself. I would replace the whole system before trying to modify the stock installation. Kind sounds like your opening a can of worms with your plan. Also, unless your trying to do a show car audio system a separate battery is really not necessary. Just buy a nice gel battery like the Optimina Redtop.
