Default help with ball joint measurements

Hello, my upper ball joint boots were damaged during the air-strut replacement by a shop.
However, someone kindly suggested I look into replacing the ball joint boots. I found energy suspension makes replacement boots for ball joints and tie-rod ends. http://www.jegs.com/p/Energy-Suspens...43964/10002/-1 The problem is I don't have a caliper so I can't measure the diameter of the A and B in this picture.

Does anyone have a spare stock 98 LS upper control arm laying around and have a caliper handy? Any help much appreciated.

You can measure the circle length of A, and B. then divide it by 3.14, the result is the OD.

That's brilliant!

circumference = pi * d

d = circumference / pi

How to measure the circumference? with a string and a sharpie? wrap the string around the shaft once; mark the location of the initial overlapping strings with sharpie; straighten out string; measure distance between the 2 sharpie marks to get circumference. voila! I will give it a try.

What is brilliant not the knowledge but the application of knowledge.

Now if you think you're good at math, present a proof of why circumference = pi * d
No cheating using google

sorry for the very late reply. I eventually got around to measuring the circumferences using a wire then doing dividing it by pi to get the diameter. I don't have the exact numbers recorded but I ended up ordering this exact boot from Jeggs
http://www.jegs.com/i/Energy+Suspens...3105G/10002/-1

I took off the old boot, cleaned it up inside, put in a bunch of new grease and slipped on the new boot. It's a nice tight fit, stretches slightly up top to make a good seal when the control arm is perpendicular to the stud. When the car is jacked up. the control arm is at an angle so the rear of the boot barely seals but once lowered onto the ground, it seals good.
