Default Silly Stock Suspension question

I ask this only because I am a man science and would like to know. I have no intentions of doing anything dumb. I just wanted to know if there was a way to manually deflate the stock suspension on a 93 LS400.

I am not actually a man of science...

why? you want to ride on bumpstops like I'm doing now on leaking air strut? a buddy said the car looks really VIP, LOL... it's really bumpy ride if you don't have air in those bags. You can let the air out by loosening the nut on the side of the strut tower that holds the air hose. It's inside a rubber grommet.

Ha, I have no intention of driving or doing anything of that nature. I honestly just wanted to know if it was possible.

Yes it is possible. 1 of 3 different ways. As Xinkid suggested, you can loosen the nut on the side of the strut. Or you can PERMANTLY deflate the bag with a few stratigically placed cuts in the bag itself (wouldn't recommend, as these bags are insanely expensive to replace). Lastly, you can buy an aftermarket air suspension controller, which will allow you to lower the car lower than it will possibly go with the stock settings. In a word,, you can SLAM it all the way to the ground, with an aftermarket controller. Controller is gonna be a few hundred, provided you can find one. Method above ONLY works for those equipped with AIR SUSPENSION. For those with NON-EQUIPPED AIR SUSPENSION, the only way to lower would be with an aftermarket coilover kit or lowering springs.

I was aware of the controller and will not cut anything. A friend had mentioned once that there was simply something you disconnect in the trunk. I didn't believe him, but couldn't find any information to support or disprove his claim. I figured I would ask.

The air compressor, IIRC, on air suspension equipped cars is located in the trunk in one of the side panels. this is most likely what he is talking about. I forgot that as well. Disable this and the car will lower. As mentioned, this only works on those equipped with airbags and not the shock/spring combination.

Well now I look like a fool! I guess I will have to look at that, I have looked in my trunk and haven't found the compressor yet.

Actually,, I was the one who was a bit off. It is not the compressor that is located there, but the ECU for the air suspension. This should help,,,,
