Need help with throttle body vacuum hose
A mechanic from the previous owner had boken this, then glued it in place.
Now after doing my valve cover gaskets, sparkplugs and wires, this has me stumped.
I cannot get it to stay in place with fipg and epoxy.
What is this hose for?
can I run the vehicle without it attached?
How is it supposed to attach?
I NEED my car tomorrow morning. what can I do

I found this
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...rams-pics.html
thank you billy powell for those pictures (and the parts I just bought from you)
The first picture in that link shows me what I want but it just isnt clear enough for me to see how it attaches.
I think some of the inner metal tube from the hose broke off in that plastic piece right before the throttle body.
I forget what its called.
but any Idea how to fix this correctly?
possible a two sided male hose connector?
what does that hose do?
can I atleast start my car with it disconnected?

The power steering idle up is really not necessary. You can take the whole thing out, block it off, and never notice the difference. It functions only when the PS is turned to either R or L lock with the engine at of near idle. It slightly increases idle speed.

Hay Spencer, I leave for a day and you get in trouble.. (smile) .
yes you can drive it with it broke, as bob said it is just for the idle up valve (ps) and is only activated when you are idling, going lock to lock purging your system to remove air.
I think my car has the california vacuum system (2ports) and most cars only one. your first photo at the bottom shows 50200 CAL that could mean california... any way dont worry about it, plug it up or glue, rethread it, whatever.. your good to go.

Thanks everybody. I fixed this a few days ago and am finally posting my fix.
I bought a 1/4 inch barb splice fitting.
Drilled out the hole on the intake pipe with larger and larger bits.
Put a little fipg in the hole then wedged the barb fitting in place.
When it dried I put a new piece of 3/16" fuel hose from the barb fitting to the metal inner hose of the hose that had proken off. a few hose clamps and it was good to go.
