Swapping faceplates on a nakamichi head, 95-97?
The nakamichi stereo in my 95 has a garbled lcd. It hasn't failed all the way yet, but the bleeding spot is getting bigger and bigger. Works great other than that tho. I just got another working unit with a good lcd, but the the faceplate is damaged(corners snapped off top, both sides). My plan is to try to swap the faceplates(or possibly just the lcds) in these two units. Searched around, and couldn't find any teardown instructions for a nakamichi(plenty for pioneer), so I'm going in blind. There is a broken unit on the way, to tear down first, just to see how they come apart. I'd love to hear any knowledge or advice that anyone has regarding this procedure, or if there is a better way to approach this problem(that doesn't involve altering the stock nakamichi system). Thanks in advance!

Well the 'face transplant' was a total success! Everything works beautifully now. I took photos of the whole process. Anyone interested in a step-by step tutorial on how to replace the lcd in a nak stereo? It'd take me a few days to get together, but could definitely post it if it would be worth it to anybody.
cheers!
