Default fog light problem

I'm having an issue with my fog lights. I've checked the fuse and they're fine. I checked the blubs and they're fine. I checked the connection and they're fine as well. If i remove the fuse and put it back on, the fog lights will come on. If i turn them off for a period of them, they won't come on. until i unplug the fuse and then putting the fuse back in. What is simply going on? Do i have a corrosion problem? I don't think its my light switch since it turns on my headlights and it'll turn on the fogs if i remove the fuse and replace it.

I think you are having a switch problem, since you have to break the circuit for performance.......

but this is just a guess, since it looks like you are driving a GX470, and this is a LS thread.

Which year LS?

Obvious areas would be the combi switch on the stalk. Even though it may seem fine, I've replaced several over the years on other Toyotas. They just wear and don't make contact the same as they used to. They become looser over use and they just don't lend themselves to being taken apart and put back together. I tried and invariably broke some small plastic part that was glued together.

The repair shop I've used for years used to clean the corrosion off a fuse block on my gen 1 LS400 about once a year to get the fog lights to work again. The person who bought the car from me in 2003 told me that he had the same problem. I never inquired about which fuse block was causing the problem.

its a 94 ls400. Its been a little cold so I hadn't had the chance to troubleshoot it. What I'll do first is clean the fuse box and see if it'll fix the problem. If not I'll change out the switch. Is it called a stalk? Probably yank one out of a junk yard, trying to save a few dollars.

what do you guys suggest I clean the fuse box with?
