Default Watch LIVE: Starter Replacement on a 97.

Been doing this for about 2 hours now... Got the upper intake off. Half tipsy on PBR.

Live on stickam.

Warning: There'e may be some profanity and bigotry... I'm not racist or against anyone, just talking smack on my car. I named her Dyslexus.

97 Coach Edition in Silver Jade Pearl.

The coolant bridge was a bugger to get off so I didn't bother and didn't even fully remove the starter:

Well, the thing is, the stuff that fell into the valves that i'm trying to clean right now, fell in there the second that lower intake came off

I don't think i'ma go live today to finish this.

I been trying to tackle the rear wire harness box for about 30+ minutes. I can't seem to get it to budge. I took off the 10mm bolt on the back of the box (passenger side), and it seems that I removed a bolt on the front of the box (Driver's side) a while back, can't remember.... I was reading there's 2 10mm bolts on the back and I cannot find on on the back driver's side for the life of me.... Is there really one back there?

Yeah, I been reading through that stuff a lot. Helps somewhat.

I pulled the cat off.... Jesus, what a PITA. Everything is a PITA LOL!

Well, when I pulled the cat off, after pulling one stud out instead of the nut coming off, and nearly stripping the other exhaust pipe nut; I looked up at the EGR tube, only to find that I broke it in half... So, now I have to order a new one...

The other part that sucks, is half these bolts i'm sorting around... I don't even know where they came from or how they mounted up.... And that's with pictures.

I thought my Volkswagen was a pain in the back, but this... This is insane.

Sometimes paying to have it done is worth it. The starter might be one of those PITA jobs worth passing on to a professional. I paid $800 to have a starter installed a couple of months back. As much as it sucked forking over the cash, with a 1 year old I have absolutely zero time to take on projects of this nature. Plus I know it was done right. Just saying.
