Default Keyless Entry problem

I have a 94 LS400 and the keyless entry only works if you are right next to the car. I have put in a new battery in the remote but do not know where to go from here. Any suggestions

Default Transponder key?

My 92 ls400 has a keyless entry key but the key itself with the button is falling apart. The screw is gone and button fell out, prior to this I replaced the battery but still had no luck with the keyless entry. I called a local Lexus dealer and they quoted me 200 for a new transponder key plus 200 more to reprogram or put in a new receiver. Are there any places that could repair my transponder key or is all lost?
Sorry for the side topic

Thanks in advance

Yep, thats what dealer wanted for my 92. Went to a stereo shop had them put in a viper keyless entry for about $150. with horn honk because thats extra from just keyless. Its integrated with factory so works like the oem. The red security light blinks like it should too.

Also trunk pop was added.

But the range is narrow kinda like oem so more than 10 feet from car it won't work.

But overall better than lexus price.

Sounds good. Definitely something to look into. Im leaning towards just getting another non-transponder key cut and get an alarm system installed. My original key with transponder is having trouble getting into the driver door and will not get into passenger door at all, although my valet key works with no problems.
