Default can I use the older Idle Air Control Valve on my 96 LS400?

my Idle Air Control Valve has failed on my 1996 LS400 and it appears that the problem is a seized bearing internally, and I would like to replace it with the rebuildable one that can be opened up that was on the earlier year models of the LS400

can anyone tell me any good reasons why this would not work just fine? - the resistances are compatible and the computer will just built a new map

right now my temporary idle control valve is a piece of plastic the shape of the gasket with a single hole punched in it with one of those hole punches you use for the kid's school work, and the car has never run better - lol

Yes, the iacv from earlier models will work. The issue is the size of the air bypass hose fitting. The sizes charge depending on the year.

The cleanest swap would include grabbing the plastic intake section, air pipe/hose and IACV from the donor.
