Default Another EGR issue

I've used search, none of the threads I've seen apply to my issue -for the "use search" trolls

91 ls400 120k miles
I get a CEL code 71 if I reset the ECU it will stay off for about 50 miles, and will come on and off every 50-100 miles, I cleaned the little filter under the cap, but it didn't help.

any ideas or helpful experience would be great,

picture is related...the car in question

i have the same issue bro, i think i read somewhere that you could try cleaning the throttle bottle and some cases it cleared the EGR cel code. I am going to try that on mines next chance i get. Side question, what kind of mileage do you get with said problem, does it even affected it to normal?

When I took my car to the shop to get it worked on they also told me that it was given the egr CEL, he cleard it and I cleaned the filter. It stayed off for a few drives then when on the freeway it turned on when I turned on the cruise control. A few days later i changed air filter, plugs and rear brakes and the light has been off since. I drove to Los Angeles and back from north Cali and the light is still off. I'm thinking it was my plugs ...

Possibly nothing at all. Good Thing I didn't get a new egr valve to replace it. When I checked my plugs they were oxidized a bit so I think that is what t was

i think most people try other things or are forced to, because the EGR pipe is prone to getting a break in it, but it is rather a PITA to change
