Default 1997 ls400 Timing belt replacement walkthrough or procedure/tutorial (any good ones?)

I did search. But I didn't find anything specific to the 1995-1997 models. The earlier model in the lexls.com tutorial is different and I think the 98s and later models are Variable valve timing engines. Are there any good ones specific to the 95-97. I've been trying to plan out the timing belt replacement for a while and am just looking for a good walkthrough with the right torque values and as many helpful hints and pictures as possible.

Should I check/adjust valve clearance while I'm in there? Anything else?

Thanks much.

I would not do the timing belt without the factory service manual for your year.

I would not check the valve clearance along with the the timing belt, the timing belt, water pump, pulleys, front main seal, coolant flush etc is a weekend long job of its own and the Timing Belt job has little open up in common with the valve clearance check, clearance is top of engine, timing belt is front of engine, maybe 15 minutes of work in common to pull the air filter and engine cover,

I did my timing belt two weeks ago and plan to check the valve clearance soon, plan to change the plugs PCV and other top of engine components at that time

The only difference from the 90-94 and 95-97 is that the 95-97 is an interference engine. It is "recommended" to set the timing marks to TDC and then rotate another 50* so that just incase you turn the cam pulleys (with belt off) while removing them to change the cam seals. Many, many people have done the job without setting it to 50*ATDC. In this thread; http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls40...e-95-96-a.html the guy says that the marks on the new T-belt will not line up if you don't set it to 50*ATDC but they do. What's the difference? If they line up at TDC, they will line up at 50* ATDC if everything turns together, right? If you search some more you can find many threads on your year for the T-belt job.
