Default couple quick questions guys!

hi guys, i know these questions might be repeated but i just want the straight out answers sooooo... i have a 99 ls400, the speedometer doesnt seem to work ...stuck... but i pound my dash (maybe i needa pound it hard enough), and my driver side door lock actuator doesn't work. i heard somewhere its the two copper piece thats darkened and needs cleaning while others say its the motor itself...you guys know where to get the DIY for the door panels and maybe the cluster? thx.

thats in the column. when I saw the vid for the first time...i was wtf am I missing?

but I watched again, and my 91 does the same thing. the reason I havent done anything about is because I dropped the steering wheel into the service position, and turned off the auto tilt swictch. so since my wheel doesnt move when I remove the key, I dont think anything of it.

but thanks for the post, now im reminded to check it out....but mine didnt move that much, but enough to notice.

ok, I took my steering column covers off.

played around, and my found that the bushing for the worm gear is worn out and has a break in the 2o'clock position of the bushing itself.

I did manage to get a couple pictures. I can email them to you if you like.

and there is a thread on replacing it, or atleast how to get to it. its a diy, telescoping not wotking.......or so I believe

hope this helps.
