Smile Found Box Installed in Front of Lexus

Hello All,

I recently hit the curb with my 1991 Lexus and it broke the plastic covering the front part of a the car. After it broke a black box fell down that said Sonaradar. Can anyone give me more information about this system? I did not know it was installed in the car until the box fell out. I am guessing it is missing some components.

Thanks,
Andrew

It's a radar detector. Previous owner maybe had it mounted to the bumper with all controls inside under the dash. I had mine right inside the grill. PO installed it, I never used it so I pulled all the wires and switches out. They're useless.

What are the controls supposed to look like? It is okay to remove it then. Since I do not need it?

I don't know what they look like. Maybe a switch and a ****, and probably some lights. Search Google for Sonaradar and whatever numbers are on the thing and you'll see what it comes with, and the color of wire.

mine had two tiny red lights on my dash, in front of the cluster. the switch was on the column, facing the floor, you pulled it to turn it on and twisted it for volume. but it was noisy and useless....

Yeah, each model is different I guess. I had red, green, and white lights on the trim for the instrument cluster, (now I got holes) the tiny speaker was stuck to the bottom of the dash (but kept hanging down) and the ***** for the city/highway and volume were down next to the **** for the alarm volume under the dash. (so far I couldn't reach it) Totally useless. I found the receipt for it when I bought the car and it cost the guy $800 for a useless piece of garbage that kept beeping every 2 seconds just to tell you it was on. Like I couldn't see the lights. Oh, did I mention they are useless?
