i have good news...
so i had the back light cluster problem (93 ls400), pulled out the cluster, replaced the c212 capacitor with a 10uf capacitor from radio shack, put the cluster back in. and now i no longer have that problem.. radio lights come on (when lights are on), PRND by shifter are now illuminated (dont know if you had that problem but i did). overall took about 1hr to remove cluster, 20mins to solder on new cap, 20mins to put cluster back in.. paid $15 for capacitor, soldering iron, and solder.. beats the hell out of $250 to send it in and a week without a car.
